DRAKE

Two-Piece, Free-Spinning Locknut

The DRAKE™ is designed to provide a secure and reliable fastening solution, particularly in applications subject to intense vibration. This locknut comprises two components:

  • Bottom Nut: Features a flexible, slotted crown that engages with the male thread.
  • Top Nut: When tightened onto the bottom nut, it creates a wedging action, enhancing the prevailing torque and ensuring a positive lock without damaging the mating threads.

This design allows the DRAKE™ locknut to be positioned anywhere along the threaded part, offering flexibility and ease of installation.

Application

DRAKE™ locknuts are ideal for high-vibration environments, including:

  • Industrial Gas Compressors
  • Diesel Engines
  • Oil and Gas Rigs
  • Power Plant Engines

In these settings, the DRAKE™ locknut’s superior holding power ensures the integrity of threaded assemblies under dynamic conditions.

Installation

To install the DRAKE™ locknut:

Positioning

Place the bottom nut onto the threaded part at the desired location.

Tightening Bottom Nut

Secure the bottom nut to achieve the required clamping load.

Applying Top Nut

Thread the top nut onto the bottom nut.

Final Tightening
