DBL-LOC®

Free-Spinning, Sealing Locknut

The DBL-LOC® is engineered to provide a secure and leak-resistant fastening solution across various applications. This locknut features a poly, Teflon, or nylon insert recessed into its base.

When tightened against a bearing surface, the insert deforms to create a secure, thread-locking seal. This design ensures both mechanical fastening and environmental sealing, preventing contaminants like moisture and dust from compromising the integrity of the connection. The free-spinning nature of the DBL-LOC® allows it to turn freely on a bolt until firmly seated, facilitating ease of installation and adjustment.

Application

DBL-LOC® locknuts are versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Electrical Installations: Ensuring secure and sealed connections in electrical conduit systems, particularly in wet or damp environments.
  • Industrial Machinery: Providing vibration-resistant fastening in equipment subject to dynamic forces, thereby maintaining assembly integrity.
  • Automotive Sector: Offering reliable fastening solutions in vehicles, where exposure to various environmental factors necessitates robust sealing capabilities.

Installation

The installation process for the DBL-LOC® locknut is straightforward:

Thread Engagement

Manually spin the locknut onto the bolt or threaded conduit until it contacts the bearing surface.

Seating

Continue to tighten the locknut using appropriate tools until the insert begins to compress, indicating the start of the sealing action.

Final Tightening

Apply the specified torque to ensure full deformation of the insert, achieving both mechanical locking and environmental sealing.

The free-spinning characteristic of the DBL-LOC® allows for quick positioning, and its design permits multiple installations and removals without significant loss of locking efficacy.
